For Wildlife

I have been lucky enough to know and work with biologists and wildlife experts from the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife on projects designed to help, in a small way, our local wildlife.

A recent project was the reconstruction of an Osprey nest platform in the Gig Harbor area of Puget Sound. On this project, my wife Dee and I donated our labor and materials to construct a platform on which a pair of Ospreys, returning from their Winter migration, would rebuild their nest. A web-cam was attached to the platform (shown at the end of the arm in the picture) for "realtime" viewing of the nesting birds. Please click here to see the live web-cam. Also click on the "OspreyCam Story" link to learn more about the project and see more images.

Below are pictures of the platform in my shop before delivery to the field and the family of 4 Ospreys who used the platform to build their home.
